Role of Design Industry in Economies and Politics

With its fast pace, innovativeness, and dynamism, design industry has had significant impacts on the society, especially in politics and economies. Creative or design industry has a significant relationship with the politics and economy. In other words, creative or design industries are known for promoting economic growth and development (Booth et al., 2008).

Firstly, design industry affects all the other industries that also influence political and economic growth, development, prosperity and move. Every other industry relies on design processes as a way of identifying the most effective product, service or culture that is likely to meet specific needs or solve identified problems. In the respect, the other industries with an economy, depend on design industries for purposes of planning, researching, developing prototypes, and coming up with a final product capable of meeting set needs and solving societal or organizational problems (Bestley & Noble, 2011). The society needs design industry to create new culture, taste, trend and mindset.

In addition, design industry is known for influencing the creative economy in which there is increased employment, training, governments issues fixing, and professional developments. These aspects are considered essential especially with the respect to achieving economic growth and development. It is also important to note that design industry is in-charge of creativity, imagination, innovation, political mindset and entrepreneurship with the society (Bergstrom, 2008). These aspects are considered as pillars of starting successful ventures, which will not only increase the level of production in an economy but also create additional employment opportunities. Creative or design industries also provide the business and organizational models in addition to legal frameworks as well as institutions that also form part of economic growth and development. There is extensive networking in creative industries. Such networking is known for developing personal, professional networks both locally and globally (Bestley & Noble, 2011). An economy that has extensive professional networks boasts of having the best in terms of the labour pool that would drive it into growth, development, and prosperity. In this respect, it is justifiable that creative or design industry plays a significant role in the creation, growth, development, and prosperity of the society.
